Other things may change us, but we start and end with family.
    -Anthony Brandt

My parents are in town this weekend, and - in spite of all the time spent playing tourist and eating in favorite restaurants - it does bring up some good knitting content. You may recall that they are some of the most grateful recipients of knitted gifts. My mom is the only adult other than myself for whom I've ever made a sweater, and she expresses her gratitude often. Now she gets a second one. Remember my closet-cleaning frenzy? The sleeves need to be rolled up a bit, but it fits my mom well. And look how happy she is!

That's the upside. The downside? It's slight, but my dad is walking around torturing the beau about how much he loves his handknit socks, and didn't he wish he had some of his own. It's cruel, really.

    Have a great weekend, folks.

Your mom is so cute! I would knit a sweater for anyone who was that appreciative!

I'm enjoying the suspense. How long will you hold out on knitting the beau some socks?

I think it's nice your dad has something so innocuous to torture the beau about -- seems a good sign to me ;-)

Awww, I can totally see the family resemblance between you and your mom. That's nice that you get to keep the sweater in the family and see it appreciated.

Hmm, the handknit socks thing puts you in quite a pickle. If you make socks for the beau you make him happy, but it would mean taking away your dad's fun.

The sweater looks great on your mom, lucky woman. Yes, I see where you get your bright smile!

Your mom looks fabulous in that sweater!

The perogative of fathers, to torment the beau.

Did you watch Gray's Anatomy yet? Yikes!

I loved the cables, turquoise and cotton when you took your sweater out of the closet....that is the wonderful thing about sweaters - they always fit someone - how nice that it was your Mom!!

Aww....your Mom looks so happy! I'm sure you had a fabulous weekend with them and they loved SD. And of course you ARE your Daddy's little girl no matter how old you are and there is another man he has to share you with. It is only natural that he let your beau know that HE has handknit socks from you :-)

So....are socks on the horizon for the beau? Have you seen the newly released book called Don't Knit for a Man Unless You Have the Ring? (wink)

That sweater looks great on your mom! The color and style are so flattering! By-the-way, I wore the one that you gave me (the cabled tank) and I got TONS of compliments.

There's only one thing to do: knit the beau a pair of socks. The sweater looks great on your mom.
