Still have perma-grin from your phone call. You're right: the ring's gorgeous. I'm so happy for you both.

And double yay! Nicole W posted! Exciting! Nicole, I miss you!

I am feeling positively Whitman-esque with this explosion of exclamation points but, really, I think the situation merits excessive usage.

Congratulations! What a beautiful ring! May you have many happy years together (oh, the things some people will do for handknits :) ).

And if you do knit a wedding shawl, make sure you have a dress (or at least a dress style) picked out first. As much as I like my Tina Shawl, something about it just didn't work with the dress at all, so I ended up not wearing it.

So does this mean I have to start knitting YOUR chuppah soon? Perhaps the better gift would be to not make one for you that you would then feel obligated to use. Also since neither of you is Jewish, it would be somewhat unnecessary. I think I'll leave the knitting to you and will instead go hit up NY's finest rare book stores :) You found your Gilbert!

I was aiming to be comment #100, but I don't think I can put it off any longer. Congratulations, Theresa! You've been obviously glowing with happiness -- even through your blog -- pretty much from the moment you met the Beau, and I couldn't be happier for the two of you. Here's to a super fast six months of flight school followed by a long, leisurely life together.
