Heaven's Lieutenants
for to their children they are heaven's lieutenants.

Direct from the gun deck of The Oldest Commissioned Warship Afloat, I bring you two things:
1. My Dad's birthday socks in actionGuess whose idea it was to take this photo for the blog? (Hint: not mine. Isn't that great?)
2. You can call me Lieutenant. Just a little cold for those summer whites . . .

Congrats on becoming a Lieutenant!
I didn't know you were in the Navy! Super Congratulations on becoming a Lieutenant!! Does that mean graduation happened too? If so, YEAH for you!
Finally the Underway and High Seas references make sense :).
You are amazing! Congratulations! And nice socks -- a very bloggable moment. http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/fun/zits.asp?date=20060513 This link has a reference you and your folks might appreciate. . .
Very cool, VERY commendable... congrats, Lt!
Congratulations! :)
Congratulations. Hope you had a nice wetting down ceremony :)
Congratulations, Theresa! Your parents must be so proud of you.
congrats!
congratulations!
Congratulations! Your dad once again shows why he's the coolest dad in blogland.
How quickly would it become annoying if I now responded to everything you say with "Aye aye!" and a salute? Immediately annoying? Oh, okay.
Congratulations! I hope you all made it home relatively dry.
By the way, I hope those birthday socks are regulation.
Congrats! And the socks look great!
Congrats!!
I'm glad I'm not your only reader who didn't know you were in the Navy. Congratulations, and thank you sincerely for your service to our country.
How fantastic! Congratulations from a former Army LT.
Congratulations! What an exciting event! (and I'm sorry you had to wear summer whites in this weather).
Congrats! Such great pictures :-)
Congratulations! I'd completely missed the 'underway' and 'high seas' references. Thought you were trying to do a Lucy Neatby on us! I think your dad likes his socks...
Congratulations! I, too, had no idea you were in the Navy. I'm a Navy brat - my dad was in for 26 years and my husband has worked as a civilian fireman at the Navy base near us for 20. If you ever get up to NAS Whidbey Island in Washington, give me a holler.

You are the hottest thing ever! Seriously!
Teresa,
phantastic! Look forward to seeing you soon.
Congratulations!! What a wonderful accomplishment! You and your parents must be very proud.
Now let us know if you start any knitalongs for your fellow servicemen and women. (A semi-LYS around here knits helmet liners for the owner's son in Iraq, and I always thought that was such a neat thing to do).
All the best! Debby
I'll second Simone and call you Leftenant Hottie!
congrats! good to see you yesterday at knitsmiths. good luck with your move and your multiple movers!
Congratulations!
How cute is your dad?
Congratulations!!!
I'm a little behind on my blog-reading. I feel bad i e-mailed before saying CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Oooh, congratulations on a wonderful achievement! You all look so happy and proud. Are you keeping any other secrets from us?!
And here we all thought we knew you! Congratulations! But are all your handknits going to have to meet navy regulations now?
Congrats on becoming an LT. I also didn't realize that you are in the Navy - the references now make sense!
congrats!!!
your smile and the proud look of your parents (I think?) must have made up for some of the coldness of the summer whites. Enjoy your last week as an almost doctor!!
I'd rather call you "doctor".
Congratulations.
Congrats to you! Very cute photos!
Congratulations, Lt!!!
Congratulations Lieutenant!
Congrats! I suppose they wouldn't let you bundle up in a nice shawl, either.
Hey, Navy Baby. There may be a Debbie Macomber book coming your way to celebrate those gorgeous whites. Congrats!
Wow...besides knitting Japanese patterns for the Olympics you also are a Lieutenant!!! Where will you find the time to knit a linen feather and fan stole?
Congratulations Lt Doctor Sir!
